I know that this is a mod for a game more than a decade old, and I don't expect it to look gorgeous or function perfectly, but the issues shown here would still need to he addressed in a full AAA game. I mean, the scale is all off, no interstellar grade ships are going to be that close to the surface of a planet, nor would the platforms be THAT short of a travel away from the atmosphere.
